Tennessee Titans performance report till Week 7 – NFL Special Part 1
Starting with a 1-4 record after first five games of the season, Titans have managed to come out of bottom.
Titans are now standing third in the American Football Conference (AFC) South with a 3-4 record after two consecutive win in Week 6 and 7.
They are looking like a team rising from the ashes and have the opportunity to save the season.
Week 1: New England Patriots
Titans lost 13-34 against New England Patriots in a game where rushing game made the difference for the two teams.
As Patriots running back Stevan Ridley got 125 rushing yards on 21 carries, Titans running back Chris Johnson had a disastrous game as he carried the ball 11 times for just four yards.
Titans lost their star quarterback Jake Locker in the game.
Locker fumbled the ball also turned over the possession twice in the game and finished with 23 of 32 for 229 yards and a touchdown.
Week 2: San Diego Chargers
Titans gave another disappointing performance as they lost 10-38 to San Diego Chargers. Titans offence looked even worse than last week as Locker remained frustrated throughout the day.
Chargers running defence also kept Titans running back to Chris Johnson to limited output as he finished with eight carries for 17 yards.
The wide receiving corps failed to deliver the goods after missing lots of catches due to bad positioning on the field.
Week 3: Detroit Lions
A field goal from kicker Rob Bironas in overtime gave Titans their first win of the season with a 44-41 victory against Detroit Lions.
It was a high-scoring game with the defence of both teams struggling big time. Titans wide receiver Darius Reynaud returned a kickoff for 105 yards to score a touchdown.
Also, cornerback Alterraun Verner returned a fumble 72 yards to reach the end zone in the final quarter to take the lead to 41-27.
Week 4: Houston Texans
Titans faced another strong opponent and failed to put up a good show as they got 14-38 loss against Houston Texans.
It was another disappointing performance from the offence as they gave two crucial interceptions which were returned for a touchdown.
Backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck remained the only good performer for Titans as he completed 17 out of 25 passes for 193 yard and two touchdowns.
