Tennessee Titans put safety Markelle Martin on PUP, cut DE Pannel Egboh – NFL News
A day after warning from Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams, coach Mike Munchak confirmed to have made some changes to the squad, although he did not call it a part of any rebuilding process that the team might pursue in the wake of the owner’s frustration
over continued losing attitude of his franchise.
The Titans miserably stumbled in front of visiting Chicago Bears recently, allowing 51 points in the game, frustrating the owner, who said to start scrutinising all officials from the front office including coaches from now on.
He insisted it was not the win or loss but the way the Titans played the Bears game was most disturbing for him. The coach admitted that the owner was not happy at all and that he understood his frustration. According to Mike, he would have done the same
to see his team losing if he were at the owner’s place.
Now the coach has confirmed leaving of safety Markelle Martin on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the rest of the season. The player had remained limited in the couple of games he played in the season.
The Titans had picked Martin in sixth-round out of this year’s draft and he played a pair of games for the team. It is rather unfortunate for him to miss the rest of the season and the coach admitted it was very hard for them to get a feel for the player.
Meanwhile, the coach also confirmed waiver of defensive end Pannel Egboh, but did not give any reason behind the move.
It is yet to be seen how the Titans perform following the warning by the owner. Mike Munchak has backed the side to come out of the looming sluggish trend and stage consistent victories.
The stakes are higher for the coach as well, given he had performed wondrously well during the first year of his stint with the team as a coach, last year. This year has proven to be disastrous so far, and with the season halfway through it will difficult
for them to catch up on with Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans, who have a clear lead ahead of them.
