Tennessee Titans start postseason reshuffling by relieving secondary coaches from duties– NFL News
Having come to the terms with their failed opportunity for playoff this season the Tennessee Titans have started focusing on reshuffling of the side with hiring firing in management as part of their preparation for next season of the National Football League
(NFL).
As a first step towards the rebuilding the team management on Wednesday announced to have relieved their secondary coach Marcus Robertson and his assistant Curtis Fuller.
The team’s coach Mike Munchak while reading out a statement, which was released by the team, said that both officials will not be joining them next year.
"I want to thank Marcus and Curtis for their time here," Titans coach Mike Munchak said in a statement released by the team. "After meeting with the coordinators over the last couple of days, we decided to make this move today. Letting Marcus go was not
an easy thing. He spent so many great years with this organization as a player, front-office employee and a coach. I respect both men, but I wanted to move in a different direction for both of these spots."
Marcus had been in his secondary coach role at the Titans for last three consecutive seasons. He however has spent as many as 19 years as a member of the team at the organization.
He also played as safety for the Titans and was a member of the squad when the team made it to Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999.
Munchak who is a head coach at the Tennessee Titans stopped short of giving any clue if any other member of the team management or outfit could be next in the line of fire.
Into its first week of the postseason, it was first act of the Titans who have almost made it to the playoff through a wild card. The opportunity went to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Having won their last three consecutive games the Titans stood well qualifying for a wild card opportunity but at the end it depended on their luck for reaching into the postseason round.
The development of positions at the league’s points table was not such that favoured them and they lost the opportunity to their American Football Conference (AFC) north rivals the Bengals.
However, the Titans inspite of their later efforts must regret ruining of their chances in their game against the previously winless the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts could not record a win until their 14th game against the Titans. The Tennessee Titans failed to recover from that loss despite maintaining a hundred per cent wins record since then.
