Question:

Tennessee Walking Horse Questions.?

I bought a gaited horse a couple of months ago. He's a Tennessee Walker, and he's got a lovely running walk - when he does it. Whenever I ask for just a tad bit more speed from him, he automatically paces. It's very uncomfortable. Is it normal for them to do this until they get used to you or something? X-x

Also, I was wondering what kind of bit I should use for western pleasure. Thanks!

  1. Maybe say easy and pull a bit when you ask for more until he's at the right speed, once he's at the right speed then pat him/her then say "Good boy/girl!" or "Good job _______!" (--- insert horses name there for the bit... i dunno i only ride english usually...
