Tennis Backhand?

I am having trouble with my backhand. I am not really sure how to do a two handed backhand. What grips do i need to use for each hand? I am a right handed player. I used to be able to hit a perfect one handed backhand but then one day after i started hitting my backhand against the wall, it stopped working on the court. It either always hits the net or always goes really high and goes out. What am i doing wrong? What should i do to improve my backhand?

  1. If u have a one-hander, make sure u aim to follow through out towards the court. Aim high over the net, and turn your wrist over to generate that topspin to bring it back down.

  2. go get some lessons; your not going to learn something like this online

  3. go to youtube.... watch amelia mauresmo and justine henin

  4. Hold your racquet with your right hand as if you were going to do a forehand. Place your left hand on top, like you were going to do a left-handed forehand. Then make sure that the back of your right hand is facing forward. The two-handed back hand is practically the same as a one-handed backhand, except that you are using two hands. Always follow through on a groundstroke. If you don't, your shot is more likely to go into the net. Practicing with a ball machine also helps. I used to have a terrible forehand and a wonderful backhand, and I practiced with the ball machine. Now my forehand is better than my backhand. Also, try hitting some light balls with a friend or a tennis coach. Hopefully these tips will improve your two-handed backhand.

  5. first u have to place ur right hand on the bottom of ur grip, and have ur left hand on top (make sure there is no space b/w ur hands). Then, b4 the ball comes over, u shud take ur racket back (have it facing towards the fence) and step in before you swing. As u hit the ball when it comes up on the rise, swing all the way through, and from ur hip up turn ur body (the racket should be upside down, against ur back (kind of like it is scratching ur back).  When ur hitting the ball, u should be bending your knees and keeping ur focus on the ball at all times. U shud keep ur feet active by 'hopping' and only plant your feet when u hit the ball, after u hit the ball ur feet should immediately start moving and then jog back to the service line.

<its a little hard to explain rather than show someone>
