Tennis Davis Cup 2010: Highlights from Sunday
The United States of America will remain in the World Group after hammering down Colombia 3-1 in a clay court tie, which was contested in the high altitude of Bogota.
The 28-year-old American player Mardy Fish was the real hero of the weekend, triumphing in both singles clashes in a total of five sets and teaming up with his compatriot fellow, John Isner to record a four set victory in the doubles on his least darling
court. The Florida resident claimed victory in a time period of four hours versus Santiago Giraldo, who had earlier knocked down Sam Querrey in straight sets during the first singles match. The final match score was 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 4-6, 8-6.
The right-handed Mardy spent nearly a total of eleven hours on court over the three days of the competition.

board by triumphing in the doubles clash. The final match score was 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-1.
The hosts then received a shocker as the top-ranked tennis contender from Brazil Thomaz Bellucci withdrew from the match as a result of his poor health condition in the hot and humid conditions out there on the court. Thomaz retired when the Brazilian team
was down at 7-6 (3), 4-0. The Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna, who recently made his way into the final of the year’s last Grand Slam, the United States Open doubles tennis tournament in New York, also sealed the victory after defeating Ricardo Mello in
a total of three sets. The final match score was 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-3.
