Tennis Hall of Fame Competition; Dustin Brown defeated Sam Querrey
During the round number two of the Hall of Fame competition, Sam Querrey who is one of the top seeded players was knocked down on Wednesday, continuing the number one seed's move of never gaining the trophy in thirty four years of the championship. Querrey, listed nineteen in the world’s rankings heading the week and a three time champion on the tour this year, was hammered down 6-4, 6-3 in a total of forty seven minutes.
Dustin Brown succeeded in thirty three off thirty four of his very first serve points. It is his first victory over a top twenty tennis contender.
Brown was listed in the 400s about some twelve months ago, he relied on a fast speed and heavy serves to annoy the top USA player in the championship. He had a total of fourteen aces.
''Half the match I was moving over to the other corner and the ball remained in the air for Brown to serve,'' Querrey commented on Brown's steady technique.
The twenty five year old Dustin Brown took hold by shattering Querrey to go up 3-2 in the game number fifth of the second match set, triumphing with a nicely timed drop hit at the net.
''I was not hoping to knock him. I was aware of the fact that I was serving well,'' Brown said. ''When I knock him down, I simply thought of carrying on with my serve. Everything simply worked well for me. It will definitely take some time to submerge.''
Both of the players kept serve and Brown took a lead 4-3 at the changeover. The player did not relax even in the break, returned on the court and concluded the game number eight with a total of three straight aces.
Querrey looked stunned by Brown's new style grip as well as his flair to defeat him with sharp cuts as well as slices. The match concluded when Querrey smashed a forehand return into the net after Brown stepped to match point with a backhand passing hit down the sideline.

Nicolas Mahut, who won on Tuesday in his first clash after falling down to John Isner at the grass court Grand Slam tournament in the lengthiest match in the history of game; that was stretched over a period of eleven hours and five minutes was again knocked down by Frank Dancevic, 7-6 (5), 6-3. Defending champion Rajeev Ram was ejected by Raven Klaasen, 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (3).
Mahut said he is going to relax for the next couple of days after his one hour and twenty minutes defeat.
''It is important. I can't fight in this form. I have to take a couple of days off to observe how my body recovers,'' he said. ''Today my back, foot as well as my knee were really hurting me. I attempted. I attempted. I kept battling. After the grass court Grand Slam event I came here and was feeling amazing. I don't understand why.''
On the other hand, Brian Dabul also stepped ahead, after knocking down Go Soeda 7-5, 6-2.
