  1. Federer has won many tournaments and opens. Hes ahead of the game. BTW he had a sickness and some injuries this year - making it a hard one on him

  2. FIRST ARE U CRAZY THE SEMI FINAL WAS NOT CLOSE!! IT WAS A 3 SET BLOW OUT (which shows how good Nadal is) He will be #2 for his life unless Fed retires cuz fed has 12 titles ad Nadal only has 4

    GO NADAL

  3. ranking points are counted in the 52 weeks previous to the tournament.-

after those 52 weeks, the points from previous tournaments are deleted and replaced with the new points from those tournaments.-

for example, rafa won the french last year, so he got 1000 points for it.- this year, when 52 weeks past they took those 1000 points and replaced them with the 1000 points he got from winning the french this year, that's why his point didn't change.-

but, if djokovic would've won the semis match, he would've been number two, cause: he would've won more points than last year, and rafa would've won less points than last year.-

did i make myself clear? hope i did, and that help you!!

    :)

  4. because of federer's domination for the past 4 years and his accumulation of ATP race points each year which accumulates into big points. rafa and nole will overtake him sooner than later

  5. the ranking is determined by the total points the player has for the last 52 weeks. each week the points from the oldest week are removed and replaced by the new week of this year... nadal last year won Roland garros so he got 1000 points.. this week these 1000 points from last year are removed and replaced by the 1000 points from this new week as he also won the same tournament.. so he actually didn't gain more points he just defended his last year points, if he had lost the final he would have only gained 700 points instead of 1000 and thus he would have lost these 300 points difference.. remember his points of the tournament "week" of last year are replaced by the points of this year's tournament.. if he has the same achievement he wont gain more he only defends his old one.. but if nadal wins Wimbledon this year and last year he didn't.. he will win extra 300 points.. last year he made the final so he won 700 pts. this year the 700 (for reaching the final)will be removed and the 1000(for winning the tournament) will be added .

    hope this helps:)

  6. At a tournament if you match your last year's performance, you get no points. If you better it you gain points. If you lose earlier then you lose points.

So, since you cannot do better than winning a tourney, Rafa got 0 points. If he lost earlier, he'd lose points.

At the upcoming wimby, Fed needs to win (like he did last year) to not lose any points. Rafa needs to atleast reach finals to not lose any points. If Federer doesn't win and say Rafa wins, then Fed will lose points, while Rafa will gain points.

  7. He won Monte Carlo and Roland Garros last year, so the points he got for winning them again this year are the same, and his total stays the same.  Federer's point total also didn't change after the French Open because he also reached the finals there last year, and same with Djokovic for matching his semifinal result there last year.  You only gain points if you improve on your result from last year.
