Tennis Question has me puzzled . . .?

Hello . . .

Still pertinent to the Olympics, I have yet another question.

Federer/Waywrinka won the gold in tennis by defeating the Swedes. Federer/Waywinka had already defeated the Bryan Bros in the semi finals to be eligible for finals. So, why now are the Bryan Bros scheduled to play a round robin with Federer/Waywrinka again since they have already beaten Johanson Team for the Bronze. I don't understand why they will meet each other again.

Please explain. thanks much, Dearie

  1. I am not following the Olympics because my job keeps me out of contact with the world.  Is there some kind of points system which left F/W and Bryan Bros tied, even though they had technically won the gold?  This could result in the necessity to break a tie.  Maybe there is a better answer out there.

  2. Federer and Wawrinka beat the Bryan brothers in the semis. They go to the finals. In the other semis, the swedes(johansson and someone else) beat the french(arnaud clement, and michael lyodra). So for the gold medal federer and wawrinka beat the swedes. That means the swedes get silver. Then for the bronze match the two losers in the semis play each other. THe BRyan brothers beat the french so they win the bronze. Hope that helped
