Tennis Special Report: Alla Kudryavtseva- a look at the major performances of 2010 Tashkent Open champ
Born on November 3, 1987 in the city of Moscow, Alla Alexandrovna Kudryavtseva is a professional tennis player from Russia. The twenty two year old, Alla currently resides in Moscow, where she is coached by Nick Rybakov. Alla’s dad, Alexander was a world
champion Greco-Roman wrestler back in 1980s and her grandfather was a weightlifter from Russia.
The right handed tennis ace received her highest career rankings of world number 59 back in 2007. Alla is currently ranked number eighty five in the world by the Women Tennis Association. She has so far won prize money of $US 952,589, one singles trophy
on the WTA tour and one singles crown along with six doubles contesting for the International Tennis Federation. She was also a runner up at the Orange Bowl tournaments, as a junior.
Alla’s major sponsor is Wilson and the Russian also has an endorsement deal with Diadora.
After turning pro back in 2005, the first Grand Slam championship of the professional tennis player, Alla Alexandrovna Kudryavtseva from Russia, was the 2007 hard court Australian Open tennis competition in the city of Melbourne. The twenty two year old
Russian did well to get the better of her Finland’s tennis foe, Emma Laine in the opening round of the competition in a total of three sets. The final match score was 4–6, 6–2, 9–7. She next ousted her tennis ideal, Martina Hingis in the second round two setter
clash. The final match score was 6–2, 6–2.
At the French Open tennis tournament in 2007, the Moscow resident hammered down her twenty ninth seeded foe, Gisela Dulko to advance into the third round in Roland Garros in a total of three sets. The final match score was 7–5, 1–6, 8–6. In the round three,
the right hander however was dispatched off by her second seeded opponent, Maria Sharapova of Russia in straight sets. The final match score was 6–1, 6–4. After this clash, Alla achieved her new career high rankings of world number sixty seven in the world
by the Women Tennis Association.
At her first grass court Grand Slam tournament in London, Alla was bundled out by the ultimate winner, Venus Williams of America in a total of three sets. The final match score was 2–6, 6–3, 7–5.
During the next year’s Wimbledon, Kudryavtseva however stunned the tennis world by getting past her compatriot fellow and third seeded, Maria Sharapova in the round two in a two setter clash at the All England Club. The final match score was 6–2, 6–4.
The 1.78 meters tall Russian after her victory joked, “It is very pleasant to defeat Sharapova...Why? Well, I don't like her outfit." Maria wore a tuxedo-like outfit during the match.
The Moscow born however couldn’t even win her opening round match of the 2009 Australian Open tennis tournament.
At the 2009 Wimbledon Competition, the world number eighty two was defeated by her fourth seeded foe Elena Dementieva in the opening round. Moreover, the Russian was also dismissed in the second round of the Australian open 2010 at the hands of Agnieszka
Radwanska in a total of two sets. The final match score was 6-0, 6-2.
In 2010, she advanced into the third round of the AEGON Classic tennis competition in Birmingham, before falling to Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-1.
Alla Alexandrovna Kudryavtseva made her way into her very first WTA final at the 2010 Guangzhou International Women's Open however was crushed by the top seeded Australian, Jarmila Groth in a two setter clash. The final match score was 6-1, 6-4. Her fine
form continued and Alla successfully managed to win her first WTA singles crown a week later, beating Elena Vesnina 6-4, 6-4 at the Tashkent Open tennis tournament.
