Tennis Special Report: An over view of the 2010 performances of Lleyton Glynn Hewitt
Born on 24 February 1981 in the city of Adelaide, Lleyton Glynn Hewitt is a professional tennis player from Australia. The former top ranked Australian has captured ATP trophies on all three courts namely the clay, hard as well as grass back in 2000. The following year Hewitt registered his name as the youngest ever tennis player from the men’s side to be listed as number one in the world by ATP. His career accomplishments so far include the 2000 United States Open doubles title, the United States Open trophy back in 2001, the 2002 grass court Grand Slam singles crown along with a series of Tennis Masters Cup victories in 2001, as well as in 2002.

Hewitt contested in United States Men's Clay Court tournament as his fourth competition of the season. He succeeded in his opening clash against Somdev Devvarman in a total of three sets. He, however later on was defeated by Juan Ignacio Chela in his next match in a total of two sets.
Although, the Australian was supposed to participate at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters as his next challenge, however, he skipped it as a result of injury. The final match score was 5-7, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2. He faced Evgeny Korolev in his second round match and won it after Evgeny withdrew in the third set of the match at the All England Club. The Adelaide resident met Gael Monfils in his next clash, who was seeded number twenty one for the championship. Hewitt with some wonderful exhibit of tennis thrashed the French player down in a total of three sets. Hewitt however, couldn’t maintain his winning momentum any further and lost his next round clash against the Serbian tennis ace, Novak Djokovic in a four setter match.
Few days ago, Hewitt at the Atlanta tennis championship was hammered down in a rather embarrassing manner by Lukas Lacko in the second round match of the tournament.
In more recent news, Lleyton Hewitt withdrew from the Rogers Cup 2010 as a result of his calf injury. Hewitt while commenting on his injury said that, “it’s not a good thing to happen prior to the start of the US Open however it’s a minor one and I will definitely play in the final Grand Slam of the season”, said the Australian on Monday.
