Tennis Update: Australian Open 2011- Rafa or Roger who is going to be the hero
The real battle of tennis is between the defending champion of Australian Open, Roger Federer and his arch rival Rafael Nadal, as the latter is opting for his fourth successive Grand Slam title.
Currently the Swiss veteran and former world number one Roger Federer is in full swing. Moreover, he has won the Qatar Open tennis event before entering into the first Grand Slam of the season. On the other hand, the Spanish world Champ tennis ace Rafael Nadal is enjoying his best form of tennis career. Nadal has won the previous three Grand Slams of the event and now he is eyeing for the fourth Grand Slam title in a row.
The Swiss and the Spaniard are the real tough challengers for each other in the event. The British number one tennis ace Andy Murray is well aware of the fact as well. In a very recent interview the current world number five, Andy Murray expressed his views about the matter while saying that Roger and Rafael have played the best tennis of their careers in the recent few years. Especially their performances in the Grand Slam events have been phenomenal; added, the twenty three years old Murray.
He further said that the Swiss legend Federer and Nadal are currently the top contenders for the Aussie Open title but there are many other players who possess the capacity to beat them. Murray added that some of the players in the top ranks are very talented and if they play their best game, they might win against Roger or Rafael as well.
On the side, the twenty four years old Nadal is very well aware that winning against the sixteen times Grand Slam winner Federer is not less than a test. Rafael expressed his views by saying that it is really hard to win every coming tournament but he is hoping for the best performance from him. He further said that all the top five rank holders are the favourites for the title and he is very well aware of the matter that he will have to face a grand challenge by the top players in the upcoming stages of the tournament.
On the other hand, the sixty seven titles winner Roger Federer has praised the form of Nadal by saying that Nadal is currently dominating the Grand Slam events and he has won the previous three events as well. He continued that the recent results are a proof of Nadal’s capacity and that is why according to him Rafael is the top favourite for the title.
Federer further stated that tennis is getting very tough by day as more and more talented player are joining the circuit. Therefore, it is almost impossible to win every event. The Swiss tennis giant said that there is not much difference between the players now as all of the top players of the world are in good form so he will have to give his best in every match to qualify for the further stages of the event.
Nadal had said after winning his first game against Marcos Daniel that if he plays his best game he might get the chance of qualifying for the next stages of the event. He had also said that the level of the competition is very high and he takes every match as the final match of the tournament.
Currently the fans from all around the globe are eyeing to see their favourite tennis stars competing hard against each other. Rafael and Roger are no doubt the top two seeds and top two contenders for the title of the event. However, there are many other players who possess the quality of hammering the others. Only time will reveal the hero of the ongoing Australian Open.
