Tennis Update: Berdych sees off Roddick at the O2 Arena in London
The tennis star and current world number six from Czech Republic, Tomas Berdych saw off his veteran American Rival and former world number one Andy Roddick in the ongoing (Association of Tennis Players) World Tour Finals tennis tournament, being held in
London at the famous O2 Arena.
The twenty five years old Czech tennis ace showed his brilliance and command over his racquet in a very blunt way and made his American opponent suffer. According to some tennis critics, Tomas is currently playing the best game of tennis and it is probably
the best playing form of his tennis career.
In the match, the Czech dominated the tennis court and outclassed his Andy Roddick in almost all departments of the game. Tomas Berdych clinched the sparkling victory of the two setter tennis match by 7-5 and 6-3.
Berdych displayed a splendid game and took the control over the match from the first set of the game. He saved two crucial break points in the first set of the match and gained a lot of confidence from the fine effort. Later after that, the Czech continued
to display his fine form, broke the serve of Andy Roddick in the first set of the match, and remained positive throughout.
On the other hand, the disappointing defeat in the match has brought worry to the American tennis veteran and current world number eight Andy Roddick. Now it is very important for the Andy Roddick to beat the Serbian number one and current world number three
Novak Djokovic to qualify for the final four stages of the tournament, whereas Berdych will face the current tennis world champ Rafael Nadal to qualify for the next stage of the event.
So far the tournament has been great for the twenty five years old Czech Berdych as he is enjoying the best time and highest ranking of his career. But the match against the world number one Nadal is definitely not going to be an easy task for him as at
the moment the twenty four years old Spaniard is being considered as the most favourite for the trophy of the ongoing tournament.
After the match, Tomas Berdych looked pretty excited and relaxed with his performance and expressed his thoughts and views to the media pretty delightedly. Berdych told the media that all the players participating in the tournament are the top eight players
of the world and that is why the level of the competition is very high. He added that he is feeling great because he has thrashed the American number one Andy Roddick but the tough challenge is still ahead.
Berdych said that World Tour Finals tournament is the toughest tennis event of the year and every player has to give his best to win a match. Tomas Berdych has suffered a thrashing defeat from Djokovic in the tournament and to qualify for the next stage
of the tournament, it is mandatory for him to beat Rafael Nadal.
When he was asked about the matter, the Czech said the defeat from the world number three Djokovic has made him more eager and frustrated to play a better game and the loss has helped him in a positive way. He added that the way he has played against Andy
Roddick was truly satisfying and therefore he is very happy with his effort so far.
Later Berdych expressed his aims and ambitions by saying that the season has been great for him and he has won a very crucial and hard match of the tournament. He said that he is now looking forward to keep his winning streak alive and qualify for the final
stages of the tournament in a victorious way.
The next match between the current world number six Tomas Berdych and the current world number one Nadal is going to be exciting and thrilling.
