Tennis Update: Federer beats Tipsarevic to enter into the quarter finals of the Swiss Indoors
The Swiss champ and current world number two Roger Federer made his way swiftly through to the top eight stages of the ongoing Swiss Indoor tennis championship, which is being held in Basel, Switzerland.
In the very recent match, the twenty nine years old Swiss veteran saw off his Serbian rival Janko Tipsarevic after a very convincing battle of tennis. The sixty four titles winner Roger Federer showed his great class and technique by hammering the twenty
six years old Tipsarevic by 6-3 and 6-4.
The Serb failed to give a strong challenge to the former world number and proved to be an easy target for the twenty nine years old Swiss.
The victory in the second match of the tournament has given Federer a solid motivation for yet another title for him. The home favourite was delighted over his brilliant performance in the match.
After the match, Federer expressed his views about his performance pretty excitedly and told the media that he has enjoyed a lot and the second victory in a row is no doubt very motivating and fantastic for him. The Swiss ace added that his current form
is better and he is very happy about his performance so far.
In the match Federer dominated the court pretty well and hardly gave any chance to the current world number forty six Serbian. While talking about his performance in the match Federer expressed his views very happily and told the media that, he is very happy
about his performance, as he dominated the match and crushed his rival pretty mercilessly. He was very happy about the fact that he served well and his movement in the court was perfect and didn’t give any chance to his rival.
Federer told the media that he is happy that everything is going according to the plan and he will try his level best to stick to the winning track. He added that if he continues his performance like that than his chances of winning the tournament are very
bright.
While expressing his views about the challenge from Janko Tipsarevic, the Swiss veteran said that Janko is a good player and victory against him is no doubt very good. Federer said that he is more focused about his game now and being over confident at this
stage would be very dangerous for him.
Federer told the world that there are very crucial and challenging matches ahead in the tournament and everything is possible, so he needs to stay focused towards his game and give his best to snatch the title.
In some other important matches of the tournament the thirty one years old and current world number thirty eight Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic beat his Dutch opponent Thiemo de Bakker after a stamina jolting battle of tennis. Both the tennis players gave
each other a very tough time but in the end it was Stepanek who used his experience pretty well and settled the brawl in a victorious way. The Czech won the match by 6-3 7-6 (7-5).
On the other hand, the young and dynamic Robin Haase of Holland proved to be a bit too much for the young and talented American player John Isner. The match between the Dutch and the American was very exciting and thrilling as both the players gave each
other a very strong challenge over the court. The current world number sixty six proved to be a bit too good for the current world number nineteen the American ace Isner. Robin Haase clutched the victory of the three setter match by 6-2 6-7 (5-7) and 7-5.
The Dutch will now face the home favourite and current world number two Roger Federer in the quarter finals of the tournament.
