These days the twenty seven year old Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez is performing brilliantly and continuing to impress his fans with his performance over the tennis court. The Spanish ace has successfully qualified for the quarter finals of the ongoing
Japan Open tennis tournament which is being held in Tokyo.
The winner of last week’s Thailand Open tennis event is no doubt experiencing the best playing form of his career. It is to be remembered that the Spaniard thrashed the world number one Rafael Nadal in the semi finals of Thailand Open and the marvellous
victory against the world number one has given him the perfect momentum to battle against any tennis rival.
In his recent match, the current world number thirty nine saw off his compatriot and sixth seed for the tournament Feliciano Lopez, after a thrilling two setter match. Garcia beat the Spaniard rival by 7-6 6-4 and made his way to the top eight stage of the
Japan Open.
On the other hand, the tennis ace from Czech Republic Radek Stepanek also qualified for the top eight stage of the tournament when his Swiss opponent Marco Chiudinelli retired from the match after suffering from the lower back injury. It is to be notified
that Czech was playing brilliantly and was leading the match. Stepanek displayed his perfect playing form and hit 12 remarkable aces during the match. It was a thrilling and stamina jolting match between the Swiss and the Czech. When Chiudinelli pulled off
due to injury the score of the match was 5-7 7-6 4-1.
In the other important matches of the tournament, the Russian talented player Dmitry Tursunov defeated the French tennis ace Richard Gasquet by 7-6 1-6 6-4 after a three setter stamina throbbing battle over the tennis court. The Russian will now face the
Spanish superstar and world number one Rafael Nadal or the Canadian Milos Raonic for the semi finals of the Japan Open.
Elsewhere in the other part of the world, the Metz Open tennis tournament winner Gilles Simon has qualified for the top eight stage of the ongoing China Open tournament. The French veteran showed his best class and talent by performing brilliantly by beating
