The twenty four year old tennis champ Rafael Nadal is performing brilliantly in the ongoing Japan Open Tennis tournament, which is being held in Tokyo. In his recent match, the Spaniard saw off his twenty seven year old Russian rival and made his way to
the semi finals of the tournament.
These days the Spanish champ is performing at his best. In a very recent match of the top eight stages of Japan Open, the Spaniard thrashed the unseeded Russian Dmitry Tursunov. It was a seventy two minute battle between the Spanish and the Russian, which
was convincingly won by Nadal. The twenty four year old won his match by 6-4 6-1.
Nadal outclassed his opponent in almost all fields of the game. The world number one played with sheer passion, speed and aggression which proved to be a bit too much for Dmitry Tursunov. The champ Spaniard showed his brilliance and clinched the victory
with a perfect forehand shot.
After the match, Nadal seemed pretty pleased with his performance and said that he is looking forward for the upcoming matches as he has to work hard to win the tournament. He said that he is focusing to play a positive game and so far, he is happy with
his performance. The victory in the quarter final of the tournament has certainly given the twenty four year old a strong confidence boost. While talking about the fact Nadal expressed himself by saying that he is looking forward to win the tournament and
he is ready to give his full for that. Nadal later added that winning the event would be a strong boost for him for the whole season and he wants to keep his winning streak alive for a longer period.
Rafael Nadal will now face the unseeded twenty four year old Viktor Troicki of Serbia. It is to be notified that Troicki qualified for the top four stages by beating the Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez in a three setter match by 6-2 3-6 6-4. Despite of being
unseeded for the tournament the Serbian showed his brilliant talent and outclassed his stronger Spanish rival in almost all fields of the game.
On the other hand, the American tennis ace and current world number ten Andy Roddick failed to continue his campaign and endured a crucial defeat from his French opponent Gael Monfils. The match between the second seed American and the fifth seed French
was very thrilling and full of action as both the tennis stars displayed the best of their remarkable talents. Monfils showed a tremendous recovery in the match after losing the second set and outclassed the American like never before. Roddick fought hard
but it seems that his dusky days are not over yet. Monfils won the stamina wrecking three setter match by 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 7-6 (8-6).
Monfils took the first tie break of the match and displayed some killer drop shots.  Roddick comeback strong in the second set and broke for 5-4. The American levelled the match by winning the second set remarkably well with a smashing forehand shot. However,
it was the French who recovered perfectly well and settled the brawl in a marvellous way by winning the third and decider set of the game.
“I tried to play aggressively and tried to control the points by keeping my nerves, I am very happy that everything went well according to the plan,” said the French ace, Monfils after the match.
Now the current world number fifteen French ace Monfils will face the current world number thirty seven, Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic in the semi finals of the tournament.
It is to be notified that the thirty one year old Radek Stepanek saw off his rival Jarkko Nieminen from Finland to qualify for the semi finals.
