Tennis Update: Justine Henin back in action in Perth
The Belgian tennis veteran Justine Henin has started the year with a pretty remarkable win over Australian Alicia Molik in the Hopman Cup, which is being held in Perth.
The victory of the former world number one tennis champ Henin against Molik is no doubt special to her as she was hoping for a good return to the tennis court after getting better from her elbow injury. The twenty eight years old, Henin clinched the win
of the match pretty convincingly by 6-4 and 6-4.
The recent match was the first match of Justine after she hit the elbow injury in June and her performance has given her a lot of boost for the upcoming match. Whereas on the other hand the Aussie tennis star Lleyton Hewitt levelled the series by winning
his match against Ruben Bemelmans.
In the match against the twenty nine years old Molik, Henin seemed a little out of touch but she was very relaxed as she started the year with a win. After the match, the Belgian star told the media about her current fitness. She said that she still feels
a little pain while playing but she is happy that her elbow is not causing much problem now. She continued that she does not feel perfectly fit but she is very well aware of the matter that her elbow is getting better and the elbow will completely heal pretty
soon.
The current world number twelve Henin said that a few months before she was unaware that she would be able to play in Australia but she has improved well and feeling very happy about the fact. She further stated that she is well motivated for the upcoming
challenges and it will take some time for her to snatch the best playing form. She added that she just has to be patient to display the best of her game over the tennis court.
For the people who are unaware of Henin’s injury, it is to be known that she endured the elbow injury in the fourth round of the Wimbledon Open Grand Slam event, while playing against her arch rival Kim Clijsters. Now the former world champ is trying to
improve her fitness level to participate in the first Grand Slam of the year; the Australian Open, which will commence on the seventeenth of this month.
On the other hand, the current world number fifty five and former world champ Australian ace Lleyton Hewitt seemed pretty pleased with his performance as well. The twenty nine years old tennis giant expressed his thoughts to the media by saying that he is
feeling perfect to play now and it feels great to be injury free. Hewitt considers that the Hopman Cup is a perfect platform to improve his form. He added that the recent matches have given him a lot of inspiration and he is eager to give his best.
Hewitt admired the game of Ruben Bemelmans by saying that Bemelmans has improved his game a lot and he is pretty tough competitor. Hewitt had also played against the current world number one hundred and seventy five in the recent Davis Cup. Lleyton told
that Ruben is a very aggressive player and he hits the balls really hard. He continued that the back-hand shot of the Belgian Ruben has improved a lot and he had to give his best to outclass the twenty two years old Ruben in the match.
The Australian team of Lleyton Hewitt and Alicia Molik grasped the victory of the group by hammering the Belgian team of Justine Henin and Ruben Bemelmans.
