Tennis Update: Murray outclassed Tsonga to qualify for the semi finals of the Shanghai Masters
The British number one, Andy Murray saw off his French rival Jo Wilfried Tsonga in the top eight stages of the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament and successfully qualified for the semi finals. The Scot dominated the match pretty marvellously and outclassed
his veteran opponent like never before.
The victory in the match is no doubt very inspiring for the current world number four, as he has been trying hard to capture a better playing form. In the match, the Briton broke twice in the first and the second set of the match and hammered Tsonga pretty
convincingly by 6-2 6-2.
Murray played a better game as compared to his previous matches. The way Scot played his shots and controlled the match was a strong proof of his better playing form. It is to be remembered that Murray has been facing some problems with his health and therefore
was unable to perform to his fullest.
The performance of Tsonga was very disappointing in the match as he seemed completely out of touch during the match. The current world number twelve completely failed to give a strong challenge to the Scot. It is also to be notified that Tsonga was playing
his fifth match since the Wimbledon cup quarter finals, in which he suffered defeat from Murray. It was an important match for the twenty five year old French as well, as he is trying his level best to regain his lost confidence and match fitness as he has
been facing some injury problems as well.
In the match, Murray snatched first two points of the first set on Tsonga’s serve and gained confidence. Murray displayed some sensational forehand shots and made his ace rival suffer. Murray served really well in the match and broke Tsonga in the second
set as well.
The thrashing loss of first set made Tsonga a bit frustrated. The Frenchman tried hard to recover but all of his efforts were seem to be going in vain. The third double fault by Tsonga made a paved way for the Briton to snatch the second set as well. The
twenty three year old British tennis veteran displayed some brilliant serves and settled the brawl in just fifty four minutes.
After the match, the Scot looked very relaxed and confident about his performance. Andy told the media that the match was very motivating for him as he has been trying hard to improve his playing form. He said that he tried his level best to serve well during
the match and he is very happy with the way he has performed. When Murray was asked about the challenge from the Frenchman in the match, the Briton said that Tsonga is a very talented player but his absence from the tennis court has dragged him out of the
good playing form. Andy continued and said that Jo was suffering throughout the match and he was not able to give his best.
Tsonga’s serve was not at all powerful during the match. While talking about the matter Murray told the media that Tsonga failed to keep his nerve and his serve was not powerful at all. He added that Tsonga’s bad playing form helped him clutch the victory
easily and quickly.
The current victory has given the British number one a new confidence boost for the upcoming matches. The semi final match for Andy Murray is not going to be an easy match at all because Jurgen Melzer and the Argentinean ace Juan Monaco are enjoying their
best playing form and both the tennis players possess the capacity to outclass any rival.
The twenty three year old British ace will now face Jurgen Melzer of Austria or Juan Monaco of Argentina, in the semi finals of the tournament.
