Tennis Update: Nadal and Roddick moved smoothly through to second round of the Japan Open
Currently the world number one tennis ace, Rafael Nadal is participating in the Japan Open tennis tournament being held in Tokyo. In his very recent match, the Spaniard thrashed his opponent after a pretty convincing tussle of tennis.
The twenty four year old world number one Spaniard saw off the Columbian Santiago Giraldo pretty brilliantly. Nadal was beaten by Guillermo Garcia Lopez in the top four stage of the Thailand Open tennis tournament last week and seemed pretty aggressive and
outrageous to clutch the victory. He took the two setter match’s victory by 6-4, 6-4.
Nadal displayed his passionate game throughout the match and outclassed the Columbian rival in all aspects of the game. The twenty four year old champ saved two crucial break points and settled the clash in one hour and fifty minutes of time. The Spanish
champ missed five chances of break points in the match. Nadal displayed some brilliant backhand and forehand shots.
After the match, the Spanish champ expressed his views and said that he was not happy with the way he was serving in the match. He added that he will have to work over his serve as he is not satisfied with the way he has performed in his recent matches.
The twenty four year old added that he will try to give his full in the next match and will try his level best to play with more energy.
On the other hand, in another important match of the Japan Open event the American ace Andy Roddick defeated his Japanese wild card entrant rival Tatsuma Ito pretty easily by 6-4 6-3. It is a very dear and special victory for the twenty eight year old American,
as this is his first win after being defeated by Janko Tipsarevic at the US Open Grand Slam event in New York. Roddick is seeded second for the tournament and his victory against Ito has certainly given him a strong inspiration and motivation for the further
stages of the tournament.
In the match, the American showed his remarkable class and made his Japanese opponent suffer. Ito made some serious errors and gave Roddick an easy way to clinch the win. In the first set of the match, the Japanese double faulted on the set point. It took
Roddick eighty two minutes to snatch the victory.
After the match, the twenty eight year old seemed pretty relaxed and told the media that he was slightly out of touch and was lacking the required confidence but the match has given him a good positive boost to compete in the upcoming stages of the tournament.
Andy Roddick told the media that he was not feeling very confident as his exit in the US Open was very disappointing for him. The American tennis star has been facing some problem with his physical fitness as well. When he was asked about the issue, Roddick
told the media that he is feeling very fit and perfect to play as he has been working hard to improve his fitness.
While talking about the match, Roddick said that Tatsuma Ito played really well in the first set of the match but in the second set, he lost his focus which helped him a lot to finish the match easily. He admired the game of Ito and said that Tatsuma is
a very talented player and hits the ball flat and powerfully which makes him a dangerous opponent.
In the other match of the Japan Open the eight seed of the tournament Frenchmen Michael Llodra moved effortlessly through to the next round by beating his Swiss rival Marco Chiudinelli by 6-3 6-0. Whereas on the other hand, the French tennis ace Gael Monfils
saw off Go Soeda of Japan by 7-6 (12-10) 6-4 after an interesting battle of tennis.
