Tennis Update: Rafael Nadal topping the seeding list of US Open 2010- Federer 2nd , Djokovic 3rd and Murray seeded 4th
The hot and happenings of the upcoming Grand Slam is filling the air of the tennis world with excitement. The announcement about the player’s seeding list has already taken place and now the players are trying hard to keep themselves fit for the bigger platform. Andy Murray has already expressed his views about the Grand Slam that he is well ready to give his best to clutch the prestigious title of US Open.
The US Open single men’s seeding list has been revealed in which Murray has been seeded fourth for the tournament. The in-form Murray is enjoying the best time of his career and has shown his capability by thrashing the world’s best in a very blunt manner. The twenty three years old veteran Scottish tennis player has already proved that he is one of the strongest contenders for the cup by beating Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the Toronto Masters Cup.
This year the world number one Spanish tennis star, Rafael Nadal is top seeded for the US Open Grand Slam. Whereas the five time Grand Slam champion, Swiss master Roger Federer is seeded second in the seeding list of the event. Federer is followed by the Serbian ace Novak Djokovic seeded at the third spot. American top player Andy Roddick is seeded ninth for the tournament.
The time is not good for Juan Martin del Potro, as he is still struggling with his wrist injury and will not be available for the mega tournament. It is no doubt a difficult time for Porto, as he will not be able to defend his title despite of having tons of talent and capability.
Coming back to the British ace player, Murray, the stage of Flashing Meadow will be a test as Federer is back in full swing and has shown his regained winning form by winning the Cincinnati title. Murray is not the only British player who is going to compete at the Flashing Meadow this year because Briton Alex Bogdanovic is hoping to get lucky as well. Alex will compete against the young American emerging player Blake Strode in the first qualifier round for the tournament.
According to some critics, the real competition at Flashing Meadow will be between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. As Federer has successfully found his winning streak back and the twenty two years old world number one Rafael Nadal cannot be ignored as well. On the other hand, Andy Murray has improved his game to an unbelievable extent. Critics are of the view that Murray has got all the chances of winning this Grand Slam, as he is going through the best time of his playing career and is in position to deliver the best of him easily.
The seeding list for the women contests will be broadcasted on Wednesday this week. It is unfortunate for the fans of current world number one Serena William’s fans as their favourite tennis veteran star will not participate in the tournament because of her foot injury. Her sister Venus Williams will take her place and compete at the Flashing Meadow. On the other hand, three British female players are fighting hard to qualify for the US Open. The young British emerging star and former junior US Open semi finalist Laura Robson has faced some tough time against the tennis veteran Jelena Dokic to enter into the second round of the qualifying stage. Whereas the Briton Katie O'Brien played against Lesya Tsurenko and Naomi Cavaday played her qualifying first round match against the American Julia Cohen.
With the seeding list of the men’s singles for the upcoming tournament, the fans are now looking forward to see their favourite player playing at his best to grab last biggest title of this year tennis season.
