Tennis Update: Verdasco, second-highest ranked Spanish tennis player, behind world number 1 Rafael Nadal, featured in GQ Magazine
It comes as no surprise that Calvin Klein picked one of tennis’ hottest male professionals as their brand ambassador. Fernando Verdasco showed off his trophy--and his Calvin Klein underwear, after defeating Robin Soderling, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, to win the Barcelona Open in Spain.
Shortly after which, the tennis hunk was featured in the September issue of GQ Magazine. The professional posed it out at the beautiful terminal number 4 at the Madrid-Barajas in Spain.
In one of the photos, Verdasco wore a pin-striped jacket with a light blue buttoned down shirt and blue jeans. With his hair neatly gelled back and a slight stubble, the sportsman also wore a watch on his left wrist. With the most intense expression, Fernando also carried a black leather bag amongst a black coat and a few other things in his hand.
Upon being asked about what the professional tennis star thought about what he calls his second home apart from Spain, “In Spain? Whew. So many beautiful women,” he says. “But then, well, Miami, New York, L.A. How can you pick just one of these cities? So many unbelievable women, so tough to choose.”
In another photo featured in the magazine, Verdasco rocked a grey suit with a light grey shirt. The sportsman also bore a plaid tie and a tie pin to go with it. Looking down in the photograph, Verdasco also wore an off-white coat on top of his suit.
Verdasco stated that he believes that the U.S. Open is just unbelievable. He said it’s the biggest, like everything else in America.  “Arthur Ashe Stadium is the biggest in the world; the hamburger is the biggest one. I just love it there,” said, Fernando, on being asked about the U.S. Open.
The professional leaned against a bar in a brown suit at the terminal in one of his other photos. Verdasco wore a white shirt with a beige sweater to go under his suit. He also wore a large pair of aviators and his hair was firmly gelled back. He also wore a watch and rested his arm on a brown leather bag.
A photograph of Verdasco speaking on the phone in a navy blue suit with a white shirt and a black tie was also printed in the magazine. The athlete wore a black pair of shoes and shades to go with his look.
The media can’t seem to get enough of the striking young professional. Hopefully, in terms of advertisement, there’s a lot more of Verdasco to come.
