Tennis Update: Wozniacki wins the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
The current world number two, Carolina Wozniacki has brushed away her Russian veteran opponent Elena Dementieva to snatch the Pan Pacific tennis championship title held in Tokyo. The Danish ace was participating in the tournament for the third time and this
time the twenty year old tennis sensation got lucky to usurp the trophy in a marvellous way.
The match was truly a tough battle between the current world number two Carolina Wozniacki and the world number ten Elena Dementieva as both the tennis starlets showed their best class and talent like never before. Wozniacki clutched the victory by 1-6,
6-2 and 6-3 in a three setter match of approximately two hours of stamina throbbing battle of tennis.
The twenty eight year old Russian ace Elena Dementieva gave a very strong challenge to Wozniacki and snatched the first set of the match pretty convincingly by 1-6. While on the other hand, Wozniacki seemed a title out of touch and made some faults. The
second set got even tougher for the Dane when she missed the two early break points in the second set of the match. The Russian seemed to be having problems with her forehand shots as most of her forehand shots found the net. Later the Dane took the control
over the game and settled the brawl in a very convincing manner.
The victory has dragged the world number two near to the world number one rank as the current world number one, American tennis ace Serena Williams is still injured and away from the tennis scene. The foot injury and absence of Serena William has opened
a window of opportunity for the twenty year old Dane and it seems like she is not willing to bow out at all.
The Pan Pacific Open women's tennis title is no doubt a mile stone for the twenty year old and the victory in the event has inspired her for the upcoming future tournaments. After winning the title, Wozniacki expressed her happiness and excitement by saying
that she is very happy that finally she has been able to win the tournament, as it was her third time to playing in Tokyo. She added that the match was pretty tough as she was very well of her opponents remarkable reputation and talent.
When she was asked about her experience and the level of competition at Pan Pacific tournament, the twenty year old said that the competition was very serious and probably one of the toughest titles she has ever won. She added that the second set of the
match was a very hard for her because she had to give her full to took the lead in the second set. Later she added that she kept fighting throughout the match and made her rival suffer. She added that she is happy and it’s the best time make her tennis career
strong.
The Pan Pacific tennis title is the 11th title for the twenty year old Danish and she is still hungry for more. While she was asked about the aims and ambitions for the upcoming tennis tournaments, Wozniacki said that she is very satisfied with the way she
has performed and she is looking forward to keep her winning form alive. This current won title is the fifth title which Wozniacki has won this year and she is aiming high for more.
The Danish top seed Carolina Wozniacki will not take part in the China Open tennis tournament which is going to be held in next week. The current world number one will have to finish in the top four stage of the China Open to usurp the world number one title
from her arch rival Serena Williams. Now the upcoming time will reveal the drama and climax of the women's tennis world.
