  1. A tennis club is usually the venue for social tennis and inter club competitions. If you wish to move to the next level, you will need specialist coaching and a tennis academy is where you will find that.

For most matches, you will be able to wear whatever you wish, but for some competitions, the rules may specify something more specific e.g. all white. In some tournaments, you may not be allowed to wear clothing showing the logo of a company not sponsoring the tournament but this is unusual.

  2. An Academy is your better option. That is if you are looking to improve and go further with your personal tennis, skill level, and of any hope of achieving professional status. Club tennis, is more so for the leisurely type of players who look for match/tournament play and to hit with different people on a daily/weekly basis.  John Newcombe has academies/ranches throughout, even here in Texas. You should look into it if serious.
