Tennis ace from Taiwan Yen Hsun Lu next ambition the United States Open tournament

After a momentous success in the grass court Grand Slam tournament this week, the tennis ace from Taiwan, Yen-Hsun Lu said on Saturday that his next ambition will be the United States Open tournament and making it into the top twenty ranking in the world.

“Now that I have managed to be in the list of top fifty rankings in the world, my very next ambition is to climb in the top twenty world’s ranking”, Lu shared his future plans while talking to the reporters during his second news conference in the last twenty four hours after his come back from London, where the grass court Grand Slam championship was held.

The number eighty two in the world, Yen-Hsun Lu amazed tennis fans when he knocked down the American tennis sensation Andy Roddick during his fourth round encounter on Tuesday at the All England Club.

Lu with this victory became the first ever player from his homeland who reached the quarterfinal stage of a Grand Slam Tournament before falling down to the third ranked player Novak Djokovic in a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 match set.  In spite of the fact that he eventually lost the quarterfinal match against Novak Djokovic, the Taiwanese as well as the international media have been focusing on him with a great amount of interest since his victory over Roddick.

The twenty six years old Lu said, “He was in astonishment of the media reportage. He was surrounded by a large number of journalists as well as his fans at the airport Friday night. He appeared in today’s news conference with a total of twenty four cameras’ around him along with hundreds of reporters, present on the occasion.

“The latest Taiwan hero”, an article on the official website of Wimbledon explained the victory over Andy Roddick as a turning point of Lu’s professional career that has now given a lot of confidence to the young man that he can perform equally well against the top ranked player.

The confidence raising success is likely to lift his ATP rankings from eighty two in the world to the list of top fifty players.  Lu after this success is now hoping to grab a spot in the top twenty world’s ranking as soon as possible. Probably this is one of the reasons why he is having high hopes for the upcoming United States Open championship, which will be held in the city of New York from August 30th -September 12th, 2010.

“It always feels great whenever I am provided with an opportunity to contest against the top ranked players in the world of tennis and I am looking forward to the US Open with the same view of experiencing another professional tennis tournament and I will try my level best to meet the expectations of my fans”, said Lu.

The Taiwanese tennis ace believes that “as long as a player keeps on struggling hard with a firm faith on his sporting flair, there is no one in the world who can stop him from success”.

Dirk Hordoff who is the current coach of Yen-Hsun Lu is also hopeful that his student will perform even better than the grass court Grand Slam Tournament.  As far as his personal life out of the tennis court is concerned, Lu is planning to get married by the end of this year.  According to Lu, he was astonished to know that his marriage schedule was reported by the media although he did not mention it anywhere in public. Lu has plans to marry his girlfriend in December, this year.

However, as far as Lu’s victory over Novak at the Wimbledon 2010 is concerned, it definitely resulted in a furious public debate as well as political discussions in his own country in particular and all around the tennis world in general.
