Kim Clijsters retired May last year and has since given birth to her first child. Does anyone know whether she intends to make a comeback to profesional tennis anytime in the the future?

Secondly,Jennifer capriati has been injured with shoulder and wrist injuries since 2004. Is their any chance of a return for her?

Lastly is Sampras still considering playing at Wimbledon this year?

Also is Justine Henin really retiring? I hope not she is a fantastic player who would be sorely missed

  1. I just did some checking on the web:

No sign of Clijsters coming back from retirement.  And the longer she stays out of competition, the more difficult it will be for her to come back.  Which points to the fact that we likely never see Jennifer Capriati on a WTA court.  No sign anywhere of her coming back.

As for Sampras, I didn't see anything that said he's thinking of coming back to play Wimbledon.  There were a few articles about McEnroe suggesting it, but I think Sampras is too self-actualized to think that he could really walk in and play a 5 set match (even at Wimbledon) and have a chance against players who do nothing but train and play.  He's also too proud to put himself in a situation where he could fail miserably.

Finally, it appears that Justine Henin is really going to retire.  If so, I feel bad for her.  She appears to be somewhat of a tortured soul.  Between losing her mother when she was young, being estranged from her father and then going thru a divorce, she may just need some time to get herself together.  We know she can still play.  Let's hope it is just a short break from the game.
