Hello, i am a huge tennis fan, and have been closely following he sport for over 10 years, i firmly believe that IF roger federer treats nadal the same way he does his other opponents, he DOES technically have the game to beat nadal on clay, and COMFORTABLY beat him on any other surface. but its this d**n mental block he has, he walks on and hes not expecting to win, today for example, first set. good clean tennis, outclassing a tired nadal (from the djokovic match) THEN after the trainer comes on his train of thought snaps!, and he let nadal win 5 or so straight games!, nadal didnt play well enough to deserve those games, as federer pretty much gave im 3/4 of the points from silly unforced errors, anyway, opinions aside.

How long will it be with nadal winning at this rate, before he claims the number one spot in the world? im talking specifics here, how many more titles/matches/grandslams, roughly?

thanks!, and i mean no disrespect at all to nadal fans!

  1. Im not sure. All i no is Roger is the #1 right now and will be for a while yet, you cant really tell you have to wait and see the outcomes of the tennis matches.

  2. Nadal won't gain the number 1 position in the world unless Federer retires. There is still a too big of a point difference between Nadal and Federer. While Federer can beat Nadal on any other surface but Nadal can only beat him on clay, Federer can win 3 out of 4 grand slams. However, Nadal may become the worlds number 3 seed becasue Djokovic is quickly catching up to him. Nadal will have to keep up his wins on clay and win as many games on the other surfaces as he can. When Federer lets up, Nadal then will have the chance to surpass him but that will take a while.

  3. I'm with you, no disresepct for Rafa he deserved to win, but Fed had him today, it was def a mental thing going on, hopefully he can pull himself together before Paris.
