I have never played tennis and I was thinking of starting just to fool around. What would be a good tennis racket for me? I am 4'6".

  1. I like rackets from "Head" brand.  Aim for a lightweight racket (the lighter the better) that you can hold in your hand nicely.

  2. well,

    who cares about height

JUST DON'T GO OUT AND BUY FULL SIZE RACKETS

just choose one that feels right for you

maybe a head or wilson...or even a babolat

also choose the correct grip size

if your hand can't wrap all the way around it

    it's too big.

    goodluck

  3. I personally prefer using the Head as they have good reliable rackets for juniors. Most Junior rackets are resonable cheap. Try going on www.tenniswarehouse.com they have a huge variety of rackets.

    Good luck finding a racket!

  4. okay you are really short lol but im like past my growing years and im only like 5'2 it sucks but okay. i started out with like a wooden racket no joke and that was a huge mistake so yea head is good and thats what i used when i was smart enough to get one and it was amazing how much better i got after that. just go for the starter rackets in like academy and dicks and stuff :)

  5. Although I wouldn't go for the Dora the Explorer model you should pick up a starter racquet from your favorite department or sports store.

You will find many junior racquets in the $30 range. This will be the best choice for you until you either get taller or decide to pursue tennis more seriously. Have fun!

  6. Well, since you're just beginning, go for a beginner Wilson or Head . . . you can get those for really cheap at places like Target and Walmart.

Don't let your height get you flustered, just pay attention to your grip size.  In the "shake hands" position with your racquet, you should be able to fit one index finger in between your thumb and the rest of your fingers.

You may want to try a junior racquet if the adult ones are too big.

    good luck!

  7. A racket with a good grip. And that is easy to handle.
