What stretches do you need to do for tennis? What are some skills or drills that can be done to improve your tennis ability? What woudl get your heart rate up from playing tennis? What are good warm up practise activities??? PLZ Help...

  1. I would just do some normal warm-up exercises, then jog around the tennis court.  Then start hitting some tennis balls...easily at first...with little running...then I would start some real training.  Practicing serve and volley will definitely get your heart rate up.

Stretches before tennis need to mainly involve your legs.  It is so easy to pull leg muscles in tennis, so getting those warmed up is imperitive.  If you know you have a weak spot, like your ankles for example, you need to stretch those, too.  (My ankles seem to get the most injuries on me, so I rotate them ten times each before I'll play a match.)  So far as drills go, run court-horses.   That's when you run parallel to the tennis net, starting at the outer-most doubles line.  You'll run to the middle service line, then go back to your start.  You turn right back around and run to the second-farthest line, the singles line, then turn around and run back.  You do the same the next time but you run all the way to the doubles line and back.  It's goal is to build up your speed and agility.  The quick starting, stopping, and turning are imperitive to a good tennis game.   Hope this helps.
