  1. A Match in tennis for girls is the best of 3 sets. Each set consists of 6 games.

A match for men is the best of 5 sets.

  2. well you can have an eight game proset and a six game proset. with the eight game you play first to eight but you have to win by two. with  the six game proset you play best 2 of 3 with six sets in it. i hope this helped you! :)

  3. Ana Ivanovic is the hottest tennis player.

  4. For majors, like the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open, a match for men's singles is best of 5 sets. Whoever gets 3 sets first, wins the match.  A set is 6 games. For women's singles, a match is best of 3 sets, whoever gets 2 sets wins the match.

In the Davis Cup, it is also best of 5 sets for singles live rubber.

For other tournaments, it is usually best of 3 sets for singles.

I think there is a different rule for doubles.

  5. Well it all depends what type of tournament or age you are playing at. Usually, a women's match is 3 sets while a men's is 5 sets. When your playing for smaller divisions like in middle school, you might play as little as up to 8 games with tie breaker, because thats what I used to do.

  6. In the grand slams men's matches are best of five sets and women's are best of three sets. But in most other tournaments it's three sets for both women and men. To win a set you must win 6 and win by two. If it gets to 6 all then you have a tiebreaker to 7 points win by two.
