Tennis players tweeting on Twitter
On tour, offseason, training, eating, having fun, after matches, before matches, tennis players are tweeting.
Twitter has become a cyber hangout for tennis players. Gone are the days when contacting your famous tennis player seemed impossible. It has become a matter of several clicks to follow your favourite. Sign up on twitter, look up your favourite and start
following their tweets. Almost all the players’ accounts have been verified (look for the verified check sign on player’s twitter page).
Tennis players have taken a fancy to Twitter. They not only have the accounts on twitter, twitter tennis players are quiet actively tweeting too. Tennis fans are very excited about finding their favourite players on this online social network. They feel
it is a perfect way for them to keep track of their favourites. Each player profile has a very flattering number of followers.
The players have been very efficient in posting tweets and replying to their fans. Some of them are even posting photos of their outings, training sessions and trips to beaches. These twitter accounts are making the players seem more real and approachable
to their fans.
Tweets are not being exchanged with fans only, players are also interacting with each other on twitter. The best part is the fact that fans get to be a part of these exchanges. They can share the players’ moods, their happy moments and their views on matches
and players. Players from different countries, speaking different languages have been considerate enough to tweet in English along with their native language. Some of the players have an excellent sense of humour, their tweets are fun to follow. Always on
top of the funny list is the American, Andy Roddick.
Andy Roddick seems to be heartbroken about his fantasy football team. One of his recent tweets goes like this “my fantasy football team sucks” then he goes on to tweet again saying “really really sucks” (tweets on September 26th), his exchanges
with his wife Brooklyn Decker (who has a twitter account) are also interesting to read.
Another Andy also seems to be a little distressed at something which has appeared in papers, this time it’s
Andy Murray. His tweet on September 23rd says “Why are newspapers allowed to print lies”. Wonder what lies he is referring to? We will be keeping a close eye on his next tweet for sure.
Looks like Serena Williams enjoyed the “Little Mermaid” today as she was indoors with a cold. At least this is what her last two tweets (September 28th) are suggesting. She talks about her dreams coming true. Seriously Serena, after all
those grand slam wins, you still have more dreams?
Meanwhile her sister Venus Williams is busy expressing her love for Oreo biscuits, here is a line from her latest tweet “Grwing up I had a rckt in 1 hand & an Oreo in the othr” (September 23rd). Of course this love for Oreo becomes
clear from her tweet on September 16th, “I have some amazing big news to tell you! I am going to be part of the Oreo and Team DSRL team again this year! Oreos are my fav!”.
Fernando Verdasco seems to be extremely happy about having 23,000 followers on twitter (from the tweet posted on September 28th), a number, he recently acquired on his twitter account. He sure is enjoying twitter. He is celebrating in Spanish
of course. Quite recently he congratulated Carlos Moya on becoming a daddy. He constantly exchanges tweets with fellow Spaniard, Feliciano Lopez.
Kim Clijsters is congratulating Bob Bryan on his engagement, who by the way was recently engaged. Thanks to twitter, this information is first hand. (Kim posted a tweet about the engagement on 22nd November).
Who else is on twitter?
Feliciano Lopez, David Nalbandian, Juan Martin Del Potro, Robin Soderling (he has some interesting twitter pictures too), Andy Murray’s brother Jamie Murray, John Isner, Taylor Dent, Andria Petkovich, Carolinie Wozniacki, Daniela Hantuchová, Vera Zvonareva,
Sabine Lisicki, Sania Mirza and many more.
