I am a beginner in tennis and my month old tennis racket (Wilson) makes a creaky sound for that last 3-4 days. Could it be because something is broke between the frame and the handle. i have a feeling it is affecting my serve(or does it?). I used my friend's racket and the serves worked well. Will an extra grip work? Any advise?

  1. Yeah, it would be a good idea to replace the racquet. Swinging around a damaged racquet can be dangerous for yourself and for friends.

It's hard to tell what the creak sound is without seeing it in person but it sounds like the handle is starting to come loose from the frame itself. To make a creak two pieces have to rub together with a great deal of friction. It's unlikely that there is a structural failure in the racquet if your description is correct.

You *could* take it to a racquet repair shop and have it fixed but unless you're emotionally attached I would just use it as an opportunity to get a modern racquet.

  2. If it ain't broken, don't replace it.

  3. its fine.... the strings are just to tight . bring it to a sports shop to get fixed.
