  1. umm well im not sure bout selection but mine is a prince. now wen i went with my dad and i saw the raquets. i couldnt believe the prices. theyre so expensive. so im guessing the more expensive the better. but atleast above 140 id say. hav fun playing tho. its a great sport.

  2. If you never have played before then you should buy one at walmart and take some lessons. No brand is better than the other. Just test some out. Weight balance and grip should all feel comfortable. You shouldn't spend over fifty dollars for your first racket. You still don't know if you like playing yet.  A vibration dampaner (a little rubber piece attached to the bottom strings) will make playing more comfortable. Take lessons. I tried tennis for dummies. Bleh. No good. Lessons. Walmart. I like wilson and prince but thats just me.

  3. don't focus on price, you're a beginner.  You need a widebody racquet for extra forgiveness, and you'll probably want a mid-flex frame.

I would try some discount shops online too like Tennis Warehouse to try and get a better deal.  Don't spend more than $100 on a beginner racquet, when you figure out what type of player you are, you ARE going to buy another to fit your game, so go easy the first purchase.

  4. well when i was starting out and even now i use a Wilson because Prince

weigh alot more, make sure you get a bigger racket because the tiny ones are made for kids but what you should do is go to the store and check them out maybe go to like dicks sporting goods because they have aton of them there

    hope this helps :)

  5. For a good beginner racket i would go with the Head Ti S5. it is a very great racket that i myself have used. This racket is designed to get more speed and spin on the ball with out as much power. This racket sells on amazon or dicksportinggood.com for about 70 dollars, it is considered a game improving racket. If you really just want a cheap racket to try and see if you like the sport then just got to target or walmart and pick one up for 20 to 30 bucks. Or buy a cheap recreational racket (Wilson nano-carbon line) for between 50 and 60 dollars. Any of these rackets could be used forever (with infrequent replacement of the grip wrap) or you could easily upgrade to a much better one when you feel the need.

One tip for buying a racket is making sure you have the correct grip size

-if you are at a store with a racket in your hand... hold it how you think you should and make sure your index finger can fit between your fingertips and you wrist/palm, if the gap is to big or too small, change size

-if purchasing online, measure hand before from the lowest most horizontal line on your palm straight up to the tip of you middle finger, that measurement in inches is the size grip you should select when buying the racket.

    Hope this helped...
