  1. The plastic pieces are not to maintain tension, but rather to maintain string alignment, which reduces friction and string wear and tear, helping to make the strings last longer.

Yes, you can order them on line, or find them in most tennis specialty stores.

  2. i am not sure if you are talking about a shock absorber or string savers i think they are called

shock absorbers mainley stop a ping when you hit the ball they dont really keep the strings align

string savers are like little plastic thing put between your strings to keep them from braking

if your asking for a good tension i use 58 i love this tension

a good string is babolat pro hurricane tour mixed with babolat xl

    this is a good mix

yes you can buy all of this online or at anywhere that you can get a racquet strung

  3. i think there is no such device in this world that can keep string tension tight. every string loses tension after some playing and over time. if you think you want to keep your string tight (at a certain tension i believe), the only solution is to restring.

let's assume you string your racquet on Aug 1st at 58 lbs (if your racquet frame allow this tension). on Aug 2nd, even if you don't hit any ball, your string tension will drop about 10% to about 53 lbs. the first 24 hour after stringing is the period of most tension loss. then each time you play, your string will lose more and more tension. restring after you feel your string is "dead" or restring as many times in a year as many times you play in a week (i.e., you play 3 times a week, restring every 4 months).

    now back to your question.

you might meant either the string savers or shock dampeners. believe me, those won't help much. the so-called shock dampeners can only reduce insignificant amount of string vibration and more effectively functions as "ping" absorber, assuming you don't like the "ping" sound. and the string savers might get lost if you hit with spins, they cannot stay there forever. but yes, you can buy them both online. try tennis-warehouse.com

    hope it helps :)
