Tennis racquet size please ??

Hey, i am new to tennis, and joining a club. I need a new tennis racquet and i was wondering about size. for example i went to the shop and it said l4 or l3, i dont get this ?? if this is the handle size, is the frame always going to be the full size??

i am follow grown and 6'1 so i would need a mans racquet, what size do i need ???

  1. 14 or 13 is the head size. (This type of racket is usually for JR's) If your a 6'1 you should get a standard racket. I would say 98 to 100 square inches. And then the grip size varies for 4, 4 1/4, 4 3/8, and 4 1/2. It depends how big your hands are, but my guess is 4 1/2 will be good for you.


  2. If you're new to tennis, I recommend you go with a racket head size between 100-110.  Bigger racket heads tend to have a bigger sweetspot and generate more power.
