If a player hits a drop shot with heavy backspin and it lands in the court then bounces and spins back onto that same players own side, without his opponent touching it, what is the call?

  1. who ever hit the drop wins I love this when I pull off one of these

  2. The player who hit the ball gets the point.

  3. It is the player that hit the ball.  I hit one of those once except it was a mistake.  I was trying to hit a topspin forehand in a tournament, and a hit it like totally on the frame.  My opponent was just standing there thinking that it wouldn't get over, but then it just barely bounced over and because of the backspin and the wind it bounced over and it was my point.

  4. An interesting side-note is that when a player A hits a drop-shot and it with heavy backspin and it comes back to his/her side without the other player B touching it, player B can reach over the net and hit the ball into player A's side.   Also,  of note is that player B if he/she chooses to can reach over and hit the ball directly into the net (on Player A's side)  giving player B the point.

  5. the player that hit the shot gets the point

I have seen this happen a few times in tournaments and if the opponent touches the ball before it goes back to the original side then the opponent gets point.

But if they don't "touch" ball b4 it lands on the original side it is the person who hit the ball's point.
