Tennis stringing?

i got a new racquet but i'm like a beginner at tennis. i got it strung at 58 tension. is that too much for a beginner?

  1. It depends on how big your racquet is and how fast your swing is.  58 lbs is about average for most racquets though, 45-65 lbs being the usual recommended string tension range.


  2. It depends somewhat on the size of the racquet.   For an oversized racquet, that is about middle tension, and it should be okay for you.   If it is a bit tight, that will give you a little better control, which is a good thing.

  3. That's a bit tight for a beginner. But then you can have a certain degree of control over the ball with that tension. You just have to hit it stronger to give power to your strokes. Be careful not to overhit though. You might get frustrated
