ok im confused.. i thought the higher it was meant that it had more control..and the lower the less power. However today i saw a k factor pure power and you could have up to 65 string tension where as the k blade you could only go up to 60? wtf help thanks x

  1. You're right about the higher the tension the more control, but actually, a lower tension means more power.

You can have any tension on any racket, but most rackets have a recommended string tension range just to be on the safe side.

Tbh, unless you're a pro or a very good player, you're better off just to go with a standard tension (about 55lbs.)

If you prefer a bit more power go a bit under, but if you'd prefer control then go a bit above. Really, the only way to know exactly what tension is best for you is to try out several tensions. Expensive, but worth it in the end.

  2. well ur right about having more control wen u string tighter.

concerning the racket u saw, the k factor pure power is a power oriented racket(as the name suggests) so it has a higher tension range to give players a larger range of control.

in other words, u dont need to string low because the racket already packs the power. therefore they give it a higher tension range to steer players to seek tensions that will give them more control.

vice versa is true for the kblade. its more control oriented so they give it a lower tension range to try to steer players to get tensions that'll give them more power.

but bear in mind that the tension is completely up to u. and ur not limited to what the racket says.

for example i string my racket at 67, five pounds above the max recommended tension range.

    hope this helps
