  1. Middle of the road. Selmer is traditionaly a high  school brand.

  2. Try forum link below.

  3. It's pretty decent for a student model.  It has a couple "extras" that help with high "F#", but why a beginner would need to play that high is beyond me! :)

Selmers are generally really great horns, and their pro models rock.  They are durable and have a great tone.  If you are just starting out, I would say the Prelude is a good first horn, and priced rather well (at least at wwbw.com).

If you're looking to upgrade though, I would suggest the Selmer Super Action 80 Series I if you can find one, or a Mark VI.  The problem is that you're looking at spending 10 times as much... but you can find them used and in great condition if you do a little hunting.  Another great line that I've fallen in love with is the Cannonball brand... GORGEOUS horns for about half the cost of Selmer or Yamaha.

You can also find a lot of really great student model through pro model tenors from Yamaha and Yanagisawa... but these I recommend trying before you buy.  I really like most of them, but they're a bit inconsistant.

    Hope this helped some! :)
