Question:

Tense, horrible jaw pain after a dentist cleaned me like an object.

Ok, so yesterday I went to the dentists and had a routine cleaning done. This dumb blonde breezy gave me a painful experience which I tried to ignore after she didn't do much when I told her the roughness in which she cleaned my teeth was REALLY hurting me. I'm not some sensitive p***y, though, so I didn't say too much. I just figured that it wasn't exactly supposed to feel good.

When I got home, everything was fine. I went to bed, everything was fine. Had a very scary dream about being slipped drugs and being on acid. Woke up to my jaw aching and tired and tense.

The pain seems to be in my gums, mostly my bottom jaw. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I brushed my teeth gently with the stuff they gave me. I cleaned a substantial amount of blood out of my mouth, the toothpaste foam turning pink.

So here, I am, 6:02 AM, not able to get back to sleep because of this nasty aching pain. I want to blame this stupid blonde breezy who shoved sharp hooks into my gums roughly, but is this early tetanus or WHAT? I thought I'd gotten a shot for this... I mean, I did find rust on some knives in the dishwasher (my dad didn't want to throw them away).

in the mean time, should I put ice on it or something? Originally I tried to use my heating pad to try to relax my muscle, no luck.

What do you think I have? it's too early to go back to the ever-so-helpful dentist.

  1. I had this problem when I wasn't flossing very often. Your gums become unhealthy and weak so they are tender and bleed for a while after a cleaning. If that isn't the case then you need to get off the medicare so you can go to a real dentist.

  2. Let the dentist know that you felt the woman who cleaned your teeth was rough with you. Some Tylenol or Advil should be enough for the pain. The tenderness will subside after a day or two.

  3. Well I would go back to the dentist and complain about the pain, they may be able to help you with it, Dentist objects should be sterile and stainless steel and i dont think you have tetnus but i would recommend you go back there and tell them how you feel, they must help. Also if you have had you tentanus injection then you shouldnt have tetanus but to be on the safe side you no what to do...
