Tense contest on the cards in Betfred Royal Mile (Handicap Stakes) at Musselburgh
The punters are once again in trouble, as it is very tough to declare someone favourite for the Betfred Royal Mile (Handicap Stakes), taking place at Musselburgh on Saturday, April 07.
Many strong and in-form runners are taking part in the 1-mile event. The names of the part takers are: Switzerland, Bronze Angel, Gabrial, Shabora, Kinloch Castle, Cravat, Zakreet, Chapter Seven, Kickingthelilly, Evervescent, Queens Revenge and Shamrocked.
The ultimate champion will bag a hefty cash prize of £31,125. With most of the participants doing a fine job these days, an exciting clash is predicted.
According to the betting forecast, Switzerland is carrying the highest starting price. The three-year-old is doing a fine job at the moment. Out of his last three races, he tasted success twice.
The latest of his triumphs came on March 10, when he secured first position by eight lengths in the Download William Hill From The App-Store Handicap at Wolverhampton. Having nabbed two comprehensive victories this year, the bay colt looks in good rhythm these days.
However, his fans cannot afford to be complacent, as there are many powerful runners in the line-up. Bronze Angel will aim for his hat-trick after a couple of fascinating performances.
Both of his last victories came at Lingfield. Musselburgh’s track is entirely different, but Bronze Angel’s winning rhythm will be crucial today.
Gabrial is another dangerous runner. The three-year-old started off his career with two straight victories in May last year. However, he lost his rhythm after that, displaying an embarrassing performance following month.
The trainee of Richard Fahey is returning to the course after a long gap, thus he will be quite fresh. Shabora is also aiming for her hat-trick. The three-year-old filly performed superbly in February, registering two back to back wins.
On both occasions, luck stayed on her side, as she grabbed glory only by a neck's distance. In an attempt to accomplish her hat-trick, the filly will have to come up with a forceful performance.
