Stanislav Cherchesov has urged his side to extend their winning run against Zenit St. Petersburg after the champions' shocking defeat against Alania Vladikavkaz
Though Zenit St. Petersburg have extended their decent winning run in the Russian Premier League by defeating the likes of Volga Nizhny Novgorod, Dynamo Moscow, Spartak Moscow and Rubin Kazan in a row, they now face a stern test
against the defending champions.
The Chechens will play the upcoming league tie against Zenit St. Petersburg at Petrovsky stadium on Saturday. As things stand, the Nohchi are at the 2nd spot on the league table, trailing table-toppers, Zenit, in the
standings on goal difference.
The Nohchi head coach, Stanislav Cherchesov, has insisted that the upcoming match holds immense importance, urging the Chechens to work harder to get a positive result against the best team in town.

Cherchesov went on to lament their 5-0 defeat against Alania Vladikavkaz on the away turf, However, he hailed his side’s character after his side responded well to the defeat after claiming four straight wins ever since.
“People are talking about who will secure the first place in the standings. We understand that we are the underdogs in this confrontation, but do not intend to give up. It will be very difficult to present a surprise to Zenit,
yet they are very familiar with our team in the Russian league.”
