The 20-year-old has set his sights on becoming a regular starter for the French club after joining the Ligue 2 outfit on-loan from AS Monaco
The Frenchman has joined AJA on-loan following their relegation to the second division of French football after they finished last in the Ligue 1 last season.
With not much cash at their disposal, the French club are looking for players who they can sign on-loan, ahead of the new season as they look to return to the top tier of French football.
AS Monaco have invested heavily in the transfer market and have brought several new players ahead of the new season. That has made it very difficult for the young players at the club to get much playing time, prompting them to seek a move away from the French
club.
One of those youngsters, Terence Makengo, has completed a loan move to Auxerre after passing a medical with the Ligue 2 outfit. The striker has vowed to use this loan deal as a step up in his career and is hoping that it will help him become a better player.
The Frenchman has expressed his desire to return to his parent club next season and wants to make most of his loan spell with AJA.
“With the arrival of the new owner, Russian Dmitry Rybolovlev, several new players have arrived. It was hard for us less experienced players to get game-time there. Therefore, I chose to make a move to Auxerre in order to get more playing time and come back
stronger in Monaco,” Makengo told reporters.
Terence Makengo claimed that several clubs were keen to attain his services but he decided to join Auxerre as he feels that the Burgundy club will help him more in his quest to become a world class player.
While talking to reporters, the 20-year-old stated that his main objective this season is to help Auxerre win the promotion back to the Ligue 1. In addition to that, the Frenchman has set his sights on scoring as much goals as he can for the French club.
“I want to help the club win the promotion. And then, on a personal level, I want to play maximum number of matches and score maximum number of goals.”
