Teriyaki Sauce, What is a cheap wine I could use?

Soy sauce

Brown sugar

Wine(I want to get away from Sherry)

Garlic

Ginger

I have always used Dry Sherry. Is there any substitutions ?

  1. Teriyaki sauce -- real, Japanese teriyaki sauce -- calls for a splash of sake. Plenty of cheap sake around.


  2. Sake! Or you can get cooking sake. Regular drinking sake is better.

  3. Some stores sell mirin, or sweet rice wine, fairly cheaply.

  5. Sake or Mirin are the best for a good Teriyaki. both are cheap, but depending where you live it could be hard to find.

  6. Red Vermouth or Sauternes even a blush wine, for something funky try tequila
