What is the terminal voltage of a 12.0 V motorcycle battery having a 0.600 ohm's internal resistance, if it is being charged by a currenct of 10.0 A? What is the output voltage of the battery charger?

  1. VOLTAGE LOST = IR = 10A * 0.6 OHM = 6V

    OUTPUT VOLTAGE = 12V-6V = 6V


  2. The 6 volt drop across the internal resistance should be added to the 12 volts.

    The charger voltage needs to be 18 volts in this case.
