Hi folks,

I need to cancel my current car insurance policy. Do i have to write a termination letter to notice the insurance company, even if i already call them? Or do i just need to call and let them know that i wanna terminate?

Does anyone have the sample letter about how to write a termination letter. Any help will be appreciate :).

  1. Typically a call to your specifc agent would be enough. You should recieve some type of written notice as well. I just cancelled insurance on one vehicle and moved it to another. Since the policy is paid monthly, the policy was in effect till the end of the month.

  2. car insurance done only for one year and for they take premium in advance after that if you do not want to continue you need not to pay premium policy automatically will be cancelled

  3. You can't do it by telephone.

In some states, you have to turn the plate of your car in to the dmv to cancel your policy (like NY and MA, and probably others).  Or, you can sign a cancellation request, the form can be sent to you by your agent or the company.

If the company lets you, all the letter has to say is, Please cancel my policy #123456789 effective 07/18/08.  And it has to be signed.

  4. I have good experience here,if you feel interested.check it out yourself.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  5. dont need a letter just call em

  6. A phone call should do.  While you are on the phone you can ask if they need a letter to backup the phone call.  I have never had to submit written instructions--always a phone call.
