Terrell Owens wants to play for San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders – NFL News
Former National Football League (NFL) wide receiver, Terrell Owens, who is currently playing in the Indoor Football League (IFL), has once again reiterated that he wants to return to the NFL and this time around, he has expressed a desire of playing for
either the San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders.
Owens, 38, started his NFL career in 1996 and played his last professional season in 2010. He joined the IFL in 2011.
Despite leaving the league, he has managed to stay in the limelight. Owens has expressed the desire of returning to the league a number of times and has been the spotlight of media owing to his criticism on his former teammates.
While giving an interview on KGMZ-FM, he has now once again spoken of returning to the league, and one of his choices is San Francisco.
He started his professional career with the 49ers and played eight seasons for them before joining the Philadelphia Eagles.
49ers have already signed a veteran receiver, Randy Moss, recently and Owens thinks that he could also have been a choice for the 49ers.
While saying that he would love to retire as a 49er, he commented:
“Would I have loved to have ended my career there, obviously signing a one- or two-year deal, absolutely. ... It is what it is at this point. I don't make those decisions and they were well aware I was out there so they felt they had the best man on their
roster."
On the other hand, Owens has another option as he also wants to play for the Raiders.
Recently, he also worked out with Raiders’ quarterback, Carson Palmer, and will not mind joining the team.
In his 15-year career, Owens played for 49ers, Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. He believes that his experience can help Raiders win the championship. He said of joining the Raiders:
“Given the opportunity if that's on their radar for me to come in and help them win some ball games and ultimately help them try to win a championship then I'll take that challenge on.”
Although Owens has been trying hard to return to the league, many experts believe that his NFL career is over.
