Since the Earthquake on July 29th, I have been fearing that an earthquake might hit when I am sleeping. I am really scared right now... I am really scared. I feel little pulses of Earthquakes in my area (lives 10 miles away from Chino Hills), and I get so scared. Also, I get visions of what's going to happen. That earthquake was my first time, and unexpected one, I feel scared. I am wondering if I will feel the next one "Big One"... and how to move on without thinking about it.

  1. Don't worry about it.  There are hundreds of small quakes every day.  Out there where you are, they are a bit stronger but still a daily occurance.  If you house isn't falling apart, just get into a doorway and hang on for the ride.  Otherwise, get outside and move away from danger zones of falling walls, trees, phone poles, & etc.

  2. Senna ya know God will take us when its our time..so don't worry..just Pray..

  3. move lol ok u just gotta watch fresh prince on nik at nite and ur cured lol

  4. You should move this to psychology or medicine as it has nothing to do with global warming.

  5. chill out just relax go somewhere and take your mind off it

  6. You could move to a more geologically safer place

  7. I just recently moved to southern California from the East Coast, and trust me: when earthquakes once every 10 years or so  is your biggest worry, you come to realize how much of a safe paradise this area is.

If you move to an area with unbelievable heat and humidity in the summer (with the chance of hurricanes, etc) and freezing cold in the winter, it gets pretty frustrating when you realize there are only a few good spring-like weekends.

I'm still amazed at how beautiful it is here EVERY SINGLE DAY.  Back in NY we needed 2 rain dates every time we planned something -- one for the first rain out, and another for when your rain date gets rained out.

I would suggest that instead of fearing it, you should just acknowledge the fact that they exist and you can't do anything about it, so you may as well just prepare for the next one.  A little shaking won't hurt (that was my first earthquake too and I actually got a bit of a thrill from it).

  8. Prepare your house/area your mostly in for an earthquake to happen. Make sure everything is sturdy/ nothing too risky if it hits you if one does. That way you will be not so paranoid/ worried that you and everyone will be hurt but don't worry about it, there is not much you can do away from paranoia that will change an earthquake from happening so go live your life, god forbid the next "Big one" will come anytime soon.

  9. I was in an elevator when the Earthquake in India hit which was like an 7.6 or something high... it was considered really high thats all I remember.. . :( and my cousin was sleeping and my mother carried him out.

  10. I sent almost 60 year in California, it does get scary sometimes, but most earthquakes will just rock you to sleep.

most housing in California is built to withstand earthquakes.
