Question:

Terrible pain on the lower-right side of my abdomen?

For a few weeks now I've been having very sharp pains on my right side. A few inches' diameter above my pelvis and below my ribcage. When I've been putting weight or pressure on my right side for a few minutes it starts to throb, then once I release the pressure / take the weight off, it feels like somebody is twisting a knife in my side.

At the beginning of the summer my brother was actually starting to have these pains, he still is. Is this possibly some contagious... bug?

I've had an Ultrasound and CT scan and yesterday I had blood work done. I return to the doctor's tomorrow. Both my Ultrasound and CT scans were fine.

Sometimes the pain gets so intense I wonder if I should maybe go to the ER. It's very frustrating and I haven't been myself at all lately. Constantly angry, short-tempered, unmotivated, and exhausted.

  1. I had a pain there. two hospitals didn't find out what it was. a third did an ultrasound and discovered my gall bladder was full of gallstones and had gotten infected and it was so far along by then that they had to rip me open and remove the gangrenous ball of puss.

your appendix is also there in the bottom right.

I'm not a dr. but doctors are not perfect and it took two years of building pain and extreme pain of passing gall stones for them to finally figure this out.

I hope you don't have what I had, but at least you might bring up the possibility so they look more carefully.
