Question:

Terrible stoppages lately??

We've had so many terrible stoppages lately

that have robbed the fans of closure,

and the fighters a chance to make history

and keep their records clean.

Brian Vera vs Andy Lee

Katsidis vs Casamayor!

Librado Andrade vs Robert Stieglitz

I think a simple way to prevent that,

is to use the standing 8 count. Why

don't referees use that more, instead

of making a rash judgement call,

and robbing the fighter of his

chance to comeback?

  1. Vera vs Lee was the worse because the ref stepped in and stopped the fight after Lee hit him. It was a solid punch.

  2. Katsidis and Stieglitz didn't protest when stopped...

  3. you f-ing kidding me??

did you see how bad Katsidis got clocked????

his legs were ready to go anyhow..

i like the guy but even he knew it wasn't his day

  4. b/c some fights do not have the standing eight count in effect. this is especially true when it is a fight for a title

  5. Well.... it could go two ways ,the ref see's alot closer than we do and they have kids and they know that the fighters belong to someone so they may be a lil' fast in stopping fights because of the hurt factor or maybe because boxing is the only sport in the world where you never have to be a boxer to work!
