Martin Rogers wrote an article completely discracing athens and insulting Greek people. http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ro-beijinglegacy082408&prov=yhoo&type=lgns. Of course this kinda stuff all the time but doesnt anyone think it is completely rediculous how he very obviously makes fun of athens and how they manage the olympic structures they built? Greece is a second world country whos income is not as great as China's.

  1. I agree with you.  This kid is obviously using his own opinions to put down the Greeks and Greece.  He made at least one grammatical error as well.  He was supposed to write an article extolling the greatness of the Beijing Olympic games which they somewhat were regardless of NBC's less than great coverage.  What he did is an outrage.  I think Yahoo should fire him for his insolence.  May he find work somewhere in the farthest reaches of the earth and never darken our doorsteps again.

  2. Wow. I can't disagree more. That's a fascinating story, assuming it is true. Athens had a chance to use those facilities for the common good, and they are sitting there empty? A waste of money and a disgrace.

It's got nothing to do with the Greek people. Bad government, I'd say.

  3. Well, I think that's the only point he's trying to make.

  4. I have to agree with this article. Greece is honoured on every olympic games by being the first country into the stadium carrying their flag.and the Greek flag is shown with the olympic and hosts flag on every occasion  As was rightly stated Greece can no longer afford to host these games which have grown into enormous costs since WW2.I do not think he was "disgracing" the Greeks in any way at all.
